Queen Mary's Royal Transformation - Member Stories

In the Sisterhood we like to think there is a bit of magic in every hat that we place on our heads.  It's our ticket to enter a world of fun and friendship and play to our heart's content.  For some women, the simple act of wearing a hat transforms them from an everyday person, to something more than they ever imagined.

Queen Mother Mary of the Royal Razzle Dazzlers Chapter (Illinois, United States) has been Hatting for 10 years, and she is passionate about the Sisterhood.  "I don't know what I'd do without it," Queen Mary said.  "It has been the highlight of my 80 years of living!"

Mary discovered the Society through her daughter, Linda, who had joined a local Chapter in another state and told her that she thought it was something she should look into.  Mary then came across an article in the newspaper about a chapter in her hometown, and when she saw the vibrant red and purple regalia worn by the Members, she knew it was going to be a perfect fit for her.  "I love the color purple," Mary said.  From clothes to bed sheets and curtains, to a car, if Mary could own it in purple, she did!  "Some people even call me the Purple Lady," Mary added.  All she really needed was the hat to complete her regalia.

Not a member of the Red Hat Society? There's only one, join the fun!
