WHAT IF WOMEN RULED THE WORLD?
Former White House press secretary Dee Dee Myers says it could happen
Waaay, waay back in February 2008, Ms. Myers mused that:
Women should rule the world.
That was it, the answer to her frustration and growing political alienation. It seemed so simple, so obvious. Women!
If women were in charge, things might actually change. Instead of posturing, we’d have cooperation. Instead of gridlock, we’d have progress. Instead of a shouting match, we’d have a conversation. A very long conversation. But a conversation nonetheless. Everyone would just hold hands and sing “Kumbaya.” Or would they?
Jump to 2015 and we of the Red Hat Society ponder, “What would life be like if Red and Pink Hatters ruled the world?”
For starters, if Hatters were in charge, the world would at least be more fun and definitely more colorful. Picture us teaching the world leaders to line dance. (No leaders required in line dancing; quite a sobering thought!) Most Hatters are through with the outdated “women are the power behind the throne” idea. Considering our demographic controls most of the purse strings; we own the throne. Collectively, we have the wisdom of the ages. Let’s put it to good use. Here we come! Now let’s all hold hands and finally sing that song. And, maybe will still have time for a spot of tea.
