DIY Oil Scented Bath Salts

Mothers Day is just around the corner.  There are tons of gift ideas to celebrate our special Mothers, Grandmothers, Aunts, Friends and any other mother figure in our lives.  But what do you buy the lady that has everything? How about something that can not be bought?  Try this DIY Oil Scented Bath Salts that can be personalized with just the right amount of scent, color, and style that will create a unique inexpensive gift for every mother that you know.

After a long day of Mothering, who wouldn't want to treat themselves to a nice, hot, soothing bath of aromatherapy and relaxation.

Materials:
1 cup    Epsom Salt or Course Sea Salt
1/4 cup Baking Soda
Fragrance Oil
Food coloring

In a small bowl combine baking soda and salt. Add a few drops of food coloring and oil.

Mix together all materials, adding more food color to desired shade. For a stronger scent, add more of the fragrance oil.  Mix until all salts are covered in color.  If the mixture becomes too moist add more salt.  Allow to air dry and set, approximately 4-5 hours.  Stir again to eliminate the clumps that may have formed.

Place you bath salts in a decorative jar.  What a wonderful, gift to pass along to the wonderful Mothers that you know.
