Riding The Rails For Sisterhood

Marilyn Cresci is one of the Red Hat Society's top, multi-talented Ambassadors. She was selected for the opportunity to hold a unique kind of Member Drive via Rail courtesy of Amtrak.  The goal of the trip was to share the world of Hatting with new women and to showcase Hatters in action.

Marilyn, fellow Ambassador Grace Bright, and Vice Queen Lori Pawlowski, traveled by train to Flagstaff, Arizona and Albuquerque, New Mexico, to pre-selected stops to meet with local women in casual environments.   She coordinated with local Queens and Ambassadors to join her and encouraged them to bring interested women. Here’s what she had to say:

We have discovered the wonderful world of travel by rail. We had more fun than a barrel of monkeys.  The coach cars were very comfortable with lots of leg room. As we continued on our journey we laughed and talked to the passengers in the coach, dining and observation cars. The crew was very friendly and helpful.  We had so much fun telling the story of the Red Hat Society.

We held meet and greets at various Starbucks locations along the way, and the strange part was that the majority of our visitors were men. They wanted to know the story of the Red Hatters and became very interested in gifting their wives, mothers and grandmothers with the gift of Fun, Friendship, Fulfillment, Freedom and Fitness. We continued to spread the Magic in the Hat to all we encountered along our journey.  The joy of holding meet and greets and meeting so many women and men was a wonderful blessing.

Way to go, Marilyn and crew! It looks like several happy women will receive Red Hat Society Gift of Membership from their darling hubbies for the holidays.
