2nd Annual Virtual RHS Costume Party and Recipe

Halloween is coming soon... Grab a mask or grab a broom... And join us, if you dare, for our 2nd Virtual Halloween Costume Affair!

In a Sisterhood that's all about playing and dressing-up, we thought Halloween would be the perfect opportunity to have a costume party. Join us on Facebook on Thursday, October 31st for our second virtual Halloween Costume Contest. Simply upload your RHS-inspired costume on our Facebook page, and three winners will be selected and featured in the following Friday Broadcast, and a compilation of all of the photos will be in the next issue of Red Hatter Matters.

The three winning categories are: Most Original Costume, Best Use Of RHS Colors and Funniest Costume.

A Fall Treat For You:

Homemade Apple Chips
2 medium Gala apples (or other sweet apple)
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon sugar (optional)

1. Preheat oven to 225° and line two baking sheets with parchment paper
2. Core and slice your apples very thinly. (The thinner the slices, the faster they will bake, and the crispier they will be.)
3. Lay one layer of your apple slices on the parchment lined baking sheets
4. Sprinkle cinnamon over the apples. For a sweeter taste, mix the cinnamon and sugar and sprinkle over the apples.

Bake for one hour, then remove them from the oven and flip them over. Return them to the oven for an additional hour, then turn the oven off. Let the apple chips cool completely in the oven, this is when they will crisp up. Once they’ve cooled, enjoy!
We hope you enjoy this recipe! If you have a healthy holiday recipe you would like to share, please send it to Stories@redhatsociety.com!
