DIY Lampshade Hat

If there's anything that we have learned about Hatters over the past 15 years, it's that they are resourceful! Sometimes, we are just amazed at the things they come up with. Take the Lampshade Hat as an example! This week, Duchess Diva Deb of the Order of the Drama Queens Chapter (California, United States) shared a photo of three beautiful hats that were created from lampshades.

What You Need:
Hot Glue Gun

Although there are no exact instructions for creating a lampshade hat, Duchess Deb did give us some great tips:

"I will say the beige was AWFUL to work with. I covered it in red satin and covered that with red lace," Deb said.

To complete the transformation from lampshade to hat, Duchess Deb glued a headband inside of the shade and added ribbons to the side for a bit of extra security.

Once the base was complete, she embellished it to her liking with a variety of boas, flowers and bling.

Isn't that awesome?! We loved this craft so much that we just had to share it. If you happen to make a lampshade hat of your own, please share your photos and tips with us! We would love to see what you come up with! You can send them to
