Buttons For Everyone!

Earlier this week, Hatquarters Team Members were attending different events and meetings, and one woman brought in a bag of clear buttons that she got from a local craft store and passed them around for the staff to make their own personalized buttons. There's something about having an empty space to put your own personal touch on that's really exciting. Immediately we thought that this would be a great craft or activity idea for Hatters. We have so many free printables on the Red Hat Society's website that you can shrink to place inside the button, and there are endless ways to personalize them with bling or scrapbook crowns, hats or jewels. This activity is quick, easy and best of all inexpensive!
What you need:
-Clear buttons
- Scissors
-Scrapbook bling
-A printout of the picture you would like to put in the button

When you print your picture, rather than printing on "Letter" sized paper, print them on "Envelope" sized paper so they will be the right size for the button. Then, add your bling to the outside of the button. If you put it inside, the button might not close properly. These are just some of the simple and fun activities that you can do with your Chapterettes. To access the free downloadables available to Queens and Members, take a look at the "Fun Stuff" tab on the Red Hat Society's website. The printable featured above can be found in the Printable Greeting Cards section. For more fun Chapter activity ideas, be sure to take a look at our Activities Collection

We hope you enjoy these craft ideas. If you try any of these activities at home, please be sure to send us photos. If you have any ideas for the blog, please send them to with the subject line: Craft Idea.
