No cake stand? No problem!

Has anyone tried the recipes that were featured in the Eat Dessert First post? Earlier this month, when we asked Hatters to share their favorite recipes with us, we received a few responses from women who told us that they were not so great in the kitchen, but they were experts at finding the best cakes and desserts in town.

Hey, baking is not for everyone, but that doesn't mean we can't be crafty and original with the presentation of  our store-bought goodies! Of course, you can just display your cakes and pies on the the cardboard or tins that they originally come with, but if you have a bit of extra time, here's a great way to make your own cake stand.

What You Need:
- A thick wine glass (not one of your best glasses)
- A clear plate
- Some super glue

We got the plate, wine glass and super glue from the local dollar store.

How to assemble:
Flip the wine glass upside down, and put plenty of super glue on the bottom of the glass. Center the plate over the bottom of the glass and set it right on top of the glue. Allow it to dry for about 10 minutes.

Top it of with your favorite dessert and you have a fabulous display! This gives a whole new meaning to the phrase: "I made it myself!"

What do you think?
