A Birthday Tradition

The Red Snappers (British Columbia, Canada) have a special tradition for every chapterette who celebrates a birthday! Queen Cheryl says, “We had a great day on July 28th going on the Stanley Park Carriage tour and then having lunch at Prospect Point.  Lady Rose Red chose this event for her birthday celebration.  In our chapter each lady decides what she wants to do to celebrate her birthday and gives me the details, date, time etc.

We then meet up at that particular place.  We have been doing this over the last few years and it has been fantastic.  The birthday girl can do something that she has been wanting to do.  The weather was beautiful (sun at long last with warm temperatures) for our ride through the park.  It takes around one hour.

I am sure we all learned a little something about Vancouver from the tour guide.  We had a delicious lunch and enjoyed each other’s company afterwards.” What a great way to celebrate!

In fact, the Former LordMayor of Westminster gave us a personal invitation to join the Parade! But for several Hatters, the experience will be even better! 8 lucky Hatters will get to represent the RHS in the world’s most televised New Year’s Day Parade by standing in the front of the parade and carrying the RHS banner! Wow!
