A Royal Affair!

Queen Pat and the Ruby Circle Orchids (Emmaus, Pennsylvania, United States) were treated to a royal event at a local Jaguar and Land Rover dealership! The store invited the ladies to enjoy a special viewing of the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. Pat writes, “Even though we had to be there by 5am, it was well worth it. We were greeted by a representative of the morning call, Lynn Stephens, with whom we had to check in. Next we had our pictures taken with the ‘royal couple.’ "

"We were seated at a table set with the finest of china and our high tea was served. Food was excellent and so was the service. It certainly helped with our enjoyment of the royal wedding. The TV screen was huge, giving us a fine view of the wedding until the sun started to shine too brightly through the windows and causing a glare so we could no longer see the screen. They were kind enough to turn on another TV, even though smaller, we could view the wedding clearly."

"We got to see the ‘first kiss.’ What a magical moment! We left there all smiles and feeling good about having taken a small part in a history-making event! Of course, we had our pictures taken with a few Jaguars before we left!”

“How do I start a chapter?”
It’s simple!
First, register your Chapter and establish a username/password for yourself as chapter Queen, in order to make full use of the Red Hat Society website. (Queens are automatically Supporting Members with their Chapter registration/annual renewal fees). As soon as you complete the registration, we’ll send you out a fabulous packet of stuff to get your chapter off to a great start!
Once you’ve got the chapter registered, it’s time to gather some Members! Many women start by inviting friends and acquaintances to join: you can also put notices in local papers, put flyers on bulletin boards in public places, or anything else to send Members your way! (We’ve even heard about a Queen who put a sign in the window of her car!) List your chapter as open to new members on the Red Hat Society website and other Supporting Members of the Red Hat Society will begin contacting you to join you in your chapter. The Red Hat Society is proud to be the true connector of women. Our customized social networks, the Queen Member Board and Queen Member Board 2, are designed to assist you in connecting with official Supporting Members around the globe. Use these resources to meet and get to know other Red Hatters around the world.
When your group is gathered, it’s time for the next step!
Register any Members within your new Chapter. All information on how to add those Members can be found in your Queen Handbook which will be sent to you when you officially join the Red Hat Society. You may also access the "Smart Hatter's Guide" section of our website for tips on how to register your Members.
Dress up! As a new Queen, you’ll receive a lovely red hat with your Queen materials: be sure to decorate it with feathers, glitter, or whatever you please! Ladies are strongly encouraged to follow the age/color guidelines, and to not wear purple/red until they have reached the “magic birthday” of 50!
HAVE FUN! (Did we need to say it?) Plan fun events and go out with your Chapter in your ensembles (also known as "full regalia"). And watch the magic that ensues!
